W. Gateway hardware versions, car side cables

If you don't have the original package then on the bottom of your Gateway device you can find a white sticker with information on it:

1. The first generation of the Gateway Lite BT was called simply Gateway Blue. It had the following product code:

  • GBL1xxx

2. The second generation was already called Gateway Lite BT. It had Bluetooth only for handsfree calls, not for Bluetooth streamed music. It was discontinued around 2014. There were two hardware versions:

  • GBL21BT (compatible A): This was made for cars which were made based on the european specifications (Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Fiat, Lancia, Mini, Renault, Rover, Seat, Skoda, Volkswagen + Mazda)
  • GBL22BT (compatible B): This was made for cars which were made based on the asian specifications (Acura, Honda, Lexus, Suzuki, Toyota)

3. The third generation is the latest Gateway Lite BT. It both has Bluetooth for handsfree calls and for music streaming. It also has two versions:

  • GBL31BT (compatible A): This was made for cars which were made based on the european specifications (Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Fiat, Lancia, Mini, Renault, Rover, Seat, Skoda, Volkswagen + Mazda). In the last few years instead of the GBL31BT product code you can see GBL-8510-xx item number on them
  • GBL32BT (compatible B): This was made for cars which were made based on the asian specifications (Acura, Honda, Lexus, Suzuki, Toyota). In the last few years instead of the GBL32BT product code you can see GBL-8520-xx item number on them

These are the car side cable harness versions which were made for the Gateway Lite and Gateway Lite BT:

  • CABL-AF8: for Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Lancia
  • CABL-AI2: for Audi with the Quadlock connector
  • CABL-AU2: for Audi with the mini ISO connector
  • CABL-BM1: for BMW with the older 17 round pin connector
  • CABL-BM4: for BMW with the 40 flat pin connector (Quadlock)
  • CABL-FP1: a special cable version for Fiat Panda
  • CABL-HB1: for Honda and Acura
  • CABL-MA1: for Mazda
  • CABL-RE8: for Renault
  • CABL-SK1: for Skoda (before Skoda started to use the Volkswagen pin-outs)
  • CABL-SU1: for Suzuki
  • CABL-TO1: for Toyota and Lexus
  • CABL-VW1: for Volkswagen with the Quadlock connector
  • CABL-VW8: for Volkswagen with the mini ISO connector

On the left side you can see the label of a Gateway Lite cable for Toyota or Lexus, on the right side there is a Gateway Pro BT cable.
