R2. Installation by Bentley Continental and VW Phaeton

If you checked with the Compatibility selector that your car is compatible with the Gateway Lite (BT), then everything should be ok, because you have seen the compatibility notes too.

The VW Phaeton (2001-2016) and the Bentley Continental (2003-2011) were made on the same platform base, so they share a lot of similarities. They were also cross-over manufactured, so the car radios of these vehicles both can have the "black one piece 20 pin mini ISO" connector (Audi spec.), or the "3 coloured 3 piece 20 pin mini ISO" connector (VW spec.).

here you can see the difference clearly

By Volkswagen Phaeton the car radio / navi was most cases made based on the VW specifications, so they used the 3 coloured 3 piece 20 pin mini ISO connector on the back of the radio. Although in rare case they can have the other connector type (black one piece) too.

In case of Bentley Continental (and Arnage) the car radio / navi was most cases made based on the Audi specifications, so they used the black one piece 20 pin mini ISO connector on the back of the radio, although in rare case they can have the other connector type (3 coloured 3 piece) too.

The installation

In case on the back of the radio you have the 3 coloured 3 piece 20 pin mini ISO connector, then you need the CABL-VW8 cable, that is included in the GBL3VW8 / GWL3VW8 Gateway Lite (BT) package. And you install it this way:

In case on the back of the radio you have the black one piece 20 pin mini ISO connector, then you need the CABL-AU2 cable, that is included in the GBL3AU2 / GWL3AU2 Gateway Lite (BT) package. And you install it this way:

Further information:

Maxxcount.de is also selling a little different package version. They simply add a CD changer adapter cable too, so that with the adapter cable you can plug the Gateway Lite (BT) device to the unplugged CD changer cable. This has two advantages: you don't need to know which mini ISO connector type the car radio has, and on the other hand you don't need to remove the car radio for the installation either. You can only get this special package version from Maxxcount.de, we circled their CD changer adapter cable with red:
